Whether it’s for work or off-road touring, if you've got yourself a 4WD, chances are you’re loading it up and decking it out with 4x4 essentials such as bull bars, underbody guards, side steps and so on. Doing so can quickly exceed your 4x4's legal Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), the maximum a vehicle can weigh when fully loaded, and it can have disastrous consequences. Furthermore, everything you place on or in your vehicle adds to the overall GVM as well. This includes fuel, passengers, other cargo and accessories, and even the tow ball load applied by a boat or camper trailer.
XGS GVM PLUS solves this problem by increasing the load-carrying capacity of your 4WD, ensuring you can carry more with confidence and comfort in any situation.
Insurance
A GVM Plus upgrade removes the potential of having insurance claims denied in the event of an accident, when a vehicle is over its legal GVM.
Legal
Driving an overloaded 4x4 is both dangerous and illegal, and can incur some harsh penalties. A GVM Plus upgrade keeps your 4x4 roadworthy.
Vehicle Safety
Exceeding your legal GVM compromises both yours and the safety of others on the road. A GVM Plus upgrade ensures your fully loaded 4x4 handles and performs as it should.
Warranty
Backed by a market-leading 3-year warranty to give you the confidence you need to ‘Handle Anything’ – no matter your 4x4 lifestyle.

What's In a XGS GVM Plus Upgrade?
XGS GVM PLUS Kits include a full suspension upgrade. (Correction components where required) A suspension upgrade alone will not increase a vehicle's listed GVM simply by the fitment of it. XGS GVM PLUS upgrades go through a party of testing (computer FEA & real world) to ensure the absolute Safety and Longevity of you and your vehicle. All XGS Suspension components are subjected to our own internal testing before being sent for accredited 3rd party testing to meet ADR requirements.
Our XGS GVM PLUS Medium features lighter coil/leaf spring options for those not needing a full weight GVM increase, reducing FBT or wanting a more compliant ride unladen.
Whilst the XGS GVM PLUS Heavy system uses coils/leaf springs to carry more weight, which allows a high final GVM figure.
XGS GVM PLUS has Australia’s widest/largest range of shock options (Roamer, Rugged & Remote) to completely tailor your GVM Upgrade to match your individual requirements.

For a GVM kit to be compliant, it undergoes thorough testing procedures, such as a robot ESC test (ADR 35/05), a LT2 Lane test and a FEA analysis is conducted of high-load area in relation to vehicle standards bulletin 14.
A heavy duty suspension kit does not make it a GVM update.
How do I know If I need a GVM upgrade?
Is your vehicle fully accessorised? If yes, chances are you need a GVM upgrade! In very rare circumstances, a vehicle would not require a GVM upgrade upon installation of a full suite of accessories. If you are unsure whether your vehicle needs a GVM upgrade, please seek advice from your local TJM fitment centre.
What happens if you exceed your GVM?
If you exceed your GVM, you risk all insurance claims and eligibility being voided and in most cases the vehicle will be deemed non-roadworthy, by law.
